Bernis/Smith Street Park is centrally located in the heart of the city at 202 W. Smith Street. The tree covered 2.24-acre park has several family friendly options. There is a large playground, and a half basketball court. The pergolas have benches for parents to sit on and watch their children play and there are also picnic tables located nearby.
The 988’ (.187 mile) walking trail winds around the perimeter of the property and has numerous stopping points with additional workout equipment. The huge oak shade trees provide a cooler environment for walkers to enjoy while they’re getting exercise.
This park project was made possible with a matching grant by the Arkansas Natural and Cultural Resources Grant and Trust Fund through a partnership between the City of Brookland and the Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage and Tourism and a portion of Arkansas’s Real Estate Transfer Tax.
